Pilot Bay Restoration, 2006

In April of 2006, a group of volunteers gathered to start the process of reshingling the lighthouse. While their contribution that day consisted mainly of stripping the old shakes from the lower 2 metres (6 ft) of the building, it allowed our contractor, Joern Wingender to concentrate on getting the materials and tools to the site via helicopter. By the end of the day, Joern and his crew had the bottom of three sides of the building reshingled. Thanks to volunteers Tim Pollock, Susan Hulland, Terry Turner, Drew Desjardins, Tom Bryce, Bill Bryce, Maurice de St Jorre and Tim Thurston. Back
