Kokanee Creek Spawning Channel Bridge

This park enhancement project was a cooperative effort between the FWKP volunteers, a Ministry of Environment E-Team and staff at BC Parks. It involved the design, construction and installation of a replacement pedestrian bridge across Kokanee Creek at the lower end of the spawning channel in Kokanee Creek Provincial Park. The bridge was constructed by staff and volunteers using equipment and materials provided by BC Parks and the Ministry of Environment and was installed on July 15, 2000. Installation coincided with channel enhancement work carried out by the Ministry of Environment to allow the spawning Kokanee easier access to the channel. This bridge allows for excellent viewing of the spawning salmon as they make their way up the channel in late August and Early September.
